UNIJOS Mistakenly Awards 29 Students First Class Degrees

Unijos mistakenly awarded first class degrees to Twenty nine students in error due to a technical problem from the ICT department. This was disclosed by the dean of faculty of law of the institution, Professor Dakas C Dakas, who said that the error would be resolved soon,
The error  gathered occurred on the Unijos convocation ceremony web portal. Twenty nine graduands of the department of law, 2015/2016 academic session, bagged first class degree in error.
The dean of the institution said: “The degrees were awarded to the graduands in error. It was an internal problem that would be resolved soon. The students have attested to the fact that their class of degree was awarded in error.”
According to him, Unijos authority is working round the clock to resolve the problem ahead of the 29th and 30th combined convocation coming up on June 23. The department of law only produced one first class graduate in the person of Olusegun Pelumi Adewunmi, 2015/2016 set.
Those that were awarded the first class erroneously said they logged into the web portal to discover the error. One of the graduands said: “I have a 2.1 (second class upper division) but my class of degree on that page was first class.”
