Meet Adams Opeyemi Habeeb, a 400 Level student in the Biochemistry Unit; Bioscience and Biotechnology department of Kwara State University, Malete. Read his interview below:
Can we meet you?My name is Adams Opeyemi Habeeb, a 400 Level student in the Biochemistry Unit; Bioscience and Biotechnology department Kwara State University, Don’t mind my address lol. That’s how the Head of Department asked us to construct it.
What prompted your choice of biz?There is no correlation whatsoever between making Toons and Biochemistry but not withstanding I grew a knack for Photoshop during my just concluded six months of internship; as a means of passing out time and killing boredom. That’s how Adams Art was born.
What are your inspirations and challenges?I have loved computers and graphics right from my teen-age. My inspiration comes from Almighty Allah. My mum have been very supportive as well.Challenges My first major challenge was at the incubation stage of the movement; My PC was bad and it eventually spoilt. So I became “PCless” for a long time. There was only one result… Inability to execute jobs I had to borrow a friend’s PC to work… Causing a disturbance in the process, but Alhamdulillahi; I now own a PC, merging academics with the art work is on the flank too.
What are your plans towards growing your empire?Time they say is money. Some jobs take hours to finish. Glory be to God, I am coping. One of my lecturers usually say that Anything an individual loves doing but is not earning money is just a hobby. We started off small hoping to be Big someday Insha Allah. That’s the goal. I practiced the digital art techniques with pictures of my friends and with time I began collecting money for my services. I’ve also used the social networking platforms to try and enlarge the coast for Adams Art by doing fan arts for celebrities such as Reminisce, Gabriel Afolayan, the most recent being that of Helen Paul.
