The House of Representatives has set up a panel to investigate why the sum of N500 million earmarked for the Girls’ Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State is no where to be found.
The Reps has launched an investigation into the missing fund as the schools earmarked for reconstruction are yet to be reconstruction  despite the huge sum of 500 million naira being earmarked for the project in 2016 budget.
This resolution of the Reps to investigate the funds followed a motion sponsored by Rep Raphael Igbokwe, who reminded the House that the former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala had flagged off the reconstruction project.
The lawmakers expressed fear if the funds have been diverted and therefore called for proper investigation into the matter.
The House also resolved that all schools destroyed in the course of the terrorists attacks by insurgency should also be reconstructed.
